For February and Black History Month we have books sharing stories about Black history, poems, biographies, joy and more.

We participate in the Little Free Library Read in Color program. Read in Color is a new initiative bringing diverse books to Little Free Library book-sharing boxes around the world. By committing to Read in Color we will distribute books that provide perspectives on racism and social justice, celebrate BIPOC and LGBTQ voices, and incorporate experiences from all identities for all readers. Less than 25% of children’s books depict non-white characters. We believe everyone should be able to see themselves in the pages of a book. We also know that books can be a window into experiences that are different from our own. By reading diverse books, we can increase understanding, empathy, and inclusion.

In February, we’re celebrating National Stout Month with a weekly showcase of unique variations of our celebrated Tollhouse American Stout. These exclusive editions are available only on tap for a fleeting moment, with a new variant unveiled every week. Follow our social media closely for the reveal of each week’s special brew and be sure to visit our taproom quickly to catch them before they vanish. Last week’s variant sold out in just three days!

This week, we’re offering the Tollhouse Menthe, a mint and chocolate fusion. Revel in the invigorating mint aroma, seamlessly mingled with subtle notes of chocolate and a light roastiness. We are excited to share some wonderful news with our community! Our very own Mark is tying the knot with his long-time love, Ann. 🍻👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨Their shared passions for craft beer, sports, and music made them a perfect match from the start. Yet, in a playful twist of fate, we’ve found that opposites really do attract – a Michigan fan and a Buckeye supporter finding love is truly a testament to their special bond. February marks National Stout Month, and to celebrate, we’re unveiling a different variation of our signature Tollhouse American Stout each week. These exclusive variants, available only on tap for a limited time, will be replaced weekly with a new offering. Keep an eye on our social media for the weekly announcements of each variant, and visit our tap room promptly to experience them before they’re gone.

Kicking off our series of releases is the special Vanilla-Walnut Tollhouse variant. Thanks to the bountiful harvest from our large black walnut tree, which also provides ample shade in our beer garden, we’ve skillfully combined Tollhouse Stout with vanilla and these local walnuts. This unique blend results in a beer with a deep black hue, accented by copper highlights and a robust tannish head. The aroma is dominated by sweet vanilla, complemented by a hint of earthiness. The stout, full-bodied and well-balanced, marries the roasted bitterness typical of an American stout with the vanilla’s sweetness and the walnut’s earthy, tannic nuances. As you enjoy this smooth, easy-to-drink stout, you’ll find its flavors deepen and enhance with warmth. This distinctive creation is a tribute to our flagship Tollhouse American Stout, enriched with vanilla and walnuts from the tree that is a staple of our beer garden. 🌳🍺🌳
